Fred Haise is best remembered as the Lunar Module Pilot of the ill-fated Apollo 13 Mission, He was scheduled to be the 6th Man to walk on the Moon, but due to a explosion onboard the spacecraft on the way there the mission was cut short.  He was also part of the team that conducted the Approach and Landing tests on the first Space Shuttle.

I have been fortunate enough to meet Mr. Haise on two occasions, the first at the Astronaut Hall Of Fame Induction in 2001 and Second at the Space Walk of Fame in 2002, both in Florida.
