The only time that we left our hotel at the Paradisus Rio de Oro was when we
took a day trip to the city of Holguin, there is a stark contrast from the
opulent surroundings of our resort and the poverty experienced by the
locals. We started by having a tour of a cigar factory (you can't come to
Cuba and not see one of these) where we bought a pack of Cohiba's from a woman
that worked there for $20 which had a retail value of about $100. then we
toured around he town looking at the old sites, churches, museums etc. and
and got involved with a local dance that was specially put on for us.
Finally we had launch on top of the mountain that overlooked the whole
